Freezout Lake 2010

This past Saturday, I had a immense privilege of going to Freezout Lake and its thousands of Snow Geese. The morning started slow, then a thousand white geese flew to be followed by 50,000+ more. As always, the spectacle was awe-inspiring.  We managed to pull out a few Ross’s Geese and the occasional blue morph (love those Blue Geese). A quick stop Lake Helena before returning to Bozeman yielded a Sharp-tailed Hawk that had just whacked a European Starling (call it population control).
