This spring so far
Wow, it’s been awhile since I’ve written anything. It is not because I’m not out there beating the bush for the new arrivals of spring. I’ve been able to find Boreal and Long-eared Owls, and I have taken a lot of great shots and some video, so here is a rundown of the images. Yesterday afternoon, Non-birding Vida and I went to the Cherry River Fishing Access for little sun-soaking and birding, and we, or better said I had several, firsts of the year. A Yellow Warbler was singing in the willows to the west of the ponds and a very tired acting Brown-headed Cowbird lingered near the parking lot. I managed a few shots of the cowbird. After shooting way too many images of American White Pelicans (they’re still cool, though), I finally got an image of pelican swallowing a fish. The kicker is that this one was totally by chance. Today was the day to finally take the new D90 out for its maiden shooting session. The weather and light was not the greatest, to say the least.
